Confidently Serving People
with Disability
Designed
for: Customer-facing or other staff who need to be
aware of how the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
affects their
work when providing a service to disabled members of the public.
Brief
description: This online programme focuses on Part
III (the goods, facilities and services section) of the
Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). It is practical
in nature for customer-facing staff and uses accelerated learning
and practical techniques to equip your staff. It will help
them to understand the interaction of the laws with the barriers
which disabled customers may face in getting access to services
in person, over the telephone or by other means. In raising
awareness of the barriers, participants will be able to identify
ways in which they can be removed or minimised in their service
delivery area.
