Lancashire
Evening Telegraph Business of the Year Awards 2005
Submission by Marilyn
Jones, Training Manager, H.I.Weldrick Ltd.
In support of the nomination of DDAtrainingUK
Nomination in the Training Excellence category
Weldricks is an independent multiple chain of community
pharmacies based in Doncaster, employing 450 people
and operating throughout South Yorkshire
Weldricks were the first pharmacy chain in the UK to
be awarded Investors in People recognition and also
hold ISO2001 and a National Training Award.
Working within the healthcare sector and being users
of the Employment Service Disability Symbol, we were
looking for a company to provide our staff with the
information and support needed for them to fully understand
and work within the DDA in areas of Employment and Provision
of Goods and Services
After research into possible providers, an appointment
was set up with DDAtrainingUK. They asked
lots of questions about our business so that they could
offer us a training proposal that would specifically
address our needs. The programme was exactly tailored
to match our requirements and a series of one-day instructor
led workshops were commissioned. Delegates attending
these workshops represented all 45-branch locations
and DDAtrainingUK provided comprehensive training materials
for them to take back to their individual locations
and feedback to colleagues.
In addition, a special half-day workshop was commissioned
for members of the Company’s Management Team,
which included feedback received from our employees.
In all the programme was a complete success and we
are already looking at ways to promote clear DDA/Diversity
services to our clients, suppliers and associate organisations.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending
the services of DDAtrainingUK. Their services are professional
and courteous from initial enquiry to point of delivery
and beyond, and their specialist knowledge in the field
of Disability Awareness is second to none. |
