Workshop 5

One-day course for customer-facing staff on goods and services provision.

Duration: 1 day (morning and afternoon breaks 15 – 20 minutes; lunch break 45 – 60 minutes)

Cost: Available upon request

Maximum No. of candidates: 16 (no less than 8)

Suitable for: Customer-facing or other staff who need to be aware of how the Disability Discrimination Act affects their work when providing a service to members of the public.

Brief description: This one-day workshop focuses on Part III (the goods, facilities and services section) of the DDA. It is practical in nature for customer-facing staff who need to understand the interaction of the law with the barriers which disabled customers may face in getting access to services (in person, over the telephone or by other means). In raising awareness of the barriers, participants will be able to identify ways in which they can be removed or minimised in their service delivery area.
